Field note
Birth of Yurga Station
Yurga station opened in 1906.
But the siding plan was approved back in 1902: 4 tracks — main, passenger, passing, and military.
From 1906, Yurga became a railway settlement. Steam locomotives of series “O”, “S”, “U”, “E” worked here — reliable “workhorses” of the Siberian railways.
The station meant people, goods, movement. Yurga began to rapidly expand on both sides of the tracks.
Next — pre-revolutionary Yurga and station life.
