Yurga Before the Revolution: Daily Life and Trade

By 1910, Yurga station had everything needed for life.

A station building, military barracks, warehouses, merchants’ houses, a confectionery shop.

After Stolypin’s reform, settlers massively moved to Siberia. Yurga grew thanks to the land, the Tom River, and convenient trade via the Kuznetsk highway.

Pre-revolutionary streets had different names: Lenin Street was Pochtamtskaya, Kalinin Street was Yakovlevskaya… But the feeling of a small bustling settlement by the road was already urban.
